Congratulations to Deborah Tappan who has been appointed as Director of Hospitality Management by the restaurant commerce platform, and IHS Provider, GoTab.
Tappan’s new responsibilities will include delivering GoTab’s technology to hotel businesses and expanding the cloud-based solution’s reach beyond the restaurant and entertainment industries.
Tappan has been a dedicated hospitality expert since 2003, working at prestigious upmarket hotel properties in the Northeast. She began her career as a member of the Four Seasons’ front-of-house team before moving on to The Boston Harbor Hotel, where she polished her revenue management talents.
She went on to work for Loews Hotels, Revere Hotel Boston Common, and The Colonnade Boston Hotel as Director of Revenue Management. She gained a first-hand understanding of hotel operations and identified the many ways technology can improve processes, convert areas into revenue centres, and elevate the guest experience during her time at the various locations.
“I am thrilled to join GoTab and introduce its innovative platform to hotel properties,” said Deborah Tappan, Director of Hospitality Management for GoTab. “There are so many opportunities to modernize systems within the hospitality industry and utilize GoTab’s technology for guest amenity programs, in-room dining, common indoor and outdoor spaces, rooftop bars, etc. The options are endless,” she added.
Tappan, who is originally from Ireland, has been in Boston for more than 20 years. She is now the President-Elect of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Boston chapter, where she is actively involved in the organization’s educational and knowledge-based programmes for the hospitality sector. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Paul and Emily when she is not at work.
